CHEMICAL PEELS IN NEWPORT BEACH

Chemical peels are a popular skincare treatment that involves applying a chemical solution to the skin to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover. This treatment helps improve the appearance of skin by addressing concerns like acne, pigmentation, fine lines, and uneven texture. Depending on the strength of the peel, it can penetrate the skin at varying depths, from superficial to deep, targeting different skin issues. After a chemical peel, the skin may peel or flake as new, healthy skin emerges, revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion. At Apothek, we offer both non-peeling and visible peeling formulas. Schedule a skin consultation with our Aestheticians to see which peel is best suited for your skin.

FAQ

Most of our peels are very tolerable. We provide a handheld fan to minimize discomfort. Some stinging or itching may occur as these acids go to work!

A good candidate for a chemical peel is someone looking to improve the texture, tone, and appearance of their skin. Chemical peels are effective for addressing concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation (sunspots or age spots), fine lines, and uneven skin texture. Ideal candidates typically have:

  1. Dull or Uneven Skin Tone: To brighten and even out complexion.
  2. Acne or Acne Scarring: To help exfoliate the skin and reduce the appearance of acne scars.
  3. Sun Damage or Age Spots: To lighten discoloration from sun exposure or aging.
  4. Fine Lines and Wrinkles: To improve skin texture and reduce signs of aging.
  5. Oily Skin: To balance oil production and refine pores.

People with active skin conditions like eczema, rosacea, or severe sunburn should consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional before undergoing a chemical peel. Additionally, those with a history of keloid scarring may need to avoid certain peels. Chemical peels cannot be performed on those who are currently taking Accutane, are pregnant, or are undergoing chemotherapy.

Our Lactic Acid Peel does not require any downtime! It is neutralized in office, and you should not experience any visible peeling.

Our other peels require you to leave them on for a few hours before rinsing. You can also expect light to moderate peeling.
